Through this partnership, the Clas Ohlson Foundation supports Help to Help’s work with long-term change through higher education. Since 2010, they have helped over 1,000 young people to train as doctors, teachers and engineers – key roles for social development and East Africa’s future workforce.
In Help to Help’s scholarship programme, selected young people not only receive higher education, but are also empowered with knowledge and activities to prepare them for the job market, such as how to write a CV, basic IT, entrepreneurship and self-leadership.
The students contribute to change for themselves, their families and society through their professions. On average, the students support 5.5 other people financially!
“Education is one of the strongest drivers of change. Together with Help to Help, Clas Ohlson Foundation wants to contribute to giving more children and young people the opportunity to shape their own future.” says Dimitri Haid, Chairman of the Board at Clas Ohlson Foundation
The partnership will enable more students in Tanzania and Uganda to access university education, strengthen their employability, and step into key roles such as nurses, teachers and engineers – professions critical to sustainable social development.
“We are excited to welcome the Clas Ohlson Foundation as a partner. This partnership enables us to expand access to higher education and build the skills and capacity essential for sustainable development in East Africa says Mehkar Sheikh, Managing Director at Help to Help
Through this collaboration, the Clas Ohlson Foundation wants to help more young students get the opportunity to educate themselves and develop their skills. The collaboration between the parties will initially run for one year.
